Handmade Fountain Pen Redwood Lace Burl with Chrome/Gold

What a stylish fountain pen!  This handcrafted fountain pen is made from Redwood Lace Burl, so called for its lace-like pattern of dark 'eyes'.  Redwood is present in California and is a beautiful rich brown to reddish color and the Redwood Lace is spectacular.  The dark eyes really set of the red-brown color of the Redwood, giving the entire pen a beautiful look to it. It is finished in Chrome / Gold.  The details in the accents are very nice and highlight the pen nicely.   It is really a nice pen.  It feels great to hold and has a fantastic weight.   

This fountain pen has been handcrafted by turning a blank of Redwood Lace Burl and finishing it to a mirror-like polish.  All external components are finished with a Chrome and Gold color accents.  This is a fountain pen (not ballpoint) pen which has a separate cap to cover the pen.  The cap does post (that is, it can screw onto the back of the pen).  It writes very smoothly and easily, and takes either a converter pump or universal ink cartridge (both included), making it easy to refill. (This pen can be converted to a rollerball pen, if desired.  Just send me an e-mail if you are interested in the rollerball pen.)

The pen is very stylish and shows well in all lighting conditions. The pen will make a memorable gift for any occasion, such as a Birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, Graduation Day, Bosses or Secretaries Day. It also makes a great corporate gift idea!

The pen is constructed first by hand selecting each piece of wood and then turning the pen to final shape. The pen is then sanded 7 times with progressively finer grits (180, 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1200) of sandpaper to create a very smooth surface.  The surface is polished to a mirror like shine using 12 polishing steps to create a showroom quality finish.  It is finished with a hand application on a preservation wax.

The pen comes with ink, converter pump and a velvet pen pouch.  You'll also receive a Certificate of Authenticity with each pen ordered.  Product dimensions are the approximate size of the pen.  The pen in the picture is the one you will receive. If you are interested in multiple pens, please contact us. Since each pen is a unique work of art, exact duplicates are not possible. But, we will do our best to create duplicates of the pen, using the same wood and finish.
